About Vicente Orjales

I am a Spanish photographer who experiences photography as a way to explore the world and, at the same time, to understand it. For many years I worked almost exclusively with digital cameras, until analog photography crossed my path again and taught me to look in a different way. With the Leica M, I rediscovered the value of patience, the importance of embracing limitations, and the beauty of a process that moves slowly and leaves room for uncertainty. I learned to develop film at home, to scan, to edit in black and white, and above all, to enjoy a kind of photography that does not aim to reproduce reality precisely, but to suggest it.

Over time I realized that what truly drives me is not the type of camera I hold in my hands, but the experience that arises each time I go out to photograph. For me, photography is a way of creating memories, even those that may not have been entirely present at the moment of the shot. Analog film, with its natural imperfections and its openness to interpretation, turns every image into a blend of what was lived and what is remembered, into an impression that changes and becomes richer as time passes.

This personal space was born to share those experiences and the photographs that come from them. I hope that, as you browse these pages, you can sense something of what I find on each photographic outing: curiosity, calm, and the need to connect with the world in a simple and honest way.
